  Loyal's
connection to China began in 1986, when the company began exporting Taiwan-produced
EPS to China through trading firms in Hong Kong. By 1989, Loyal had shed
the middleman and started its own trading arm in Hong Kong to handle its
trading business.
Loyal's
China business grew quickly, and by 1990, Mr. Y.C. Liao began searching
for a joint venture partner to set-up an EPS manufacturing site in China.
He found the perfect partners in the Mitsubishi Corporation, one of the
largest trading firms in the world, and the Toho Industries Ltd., the largest
EPS molding company in Japan.
In
May of 1992, the Ningbo He-Qiao Chemical Industrial Company was founded
and production began in October, 1993. The Ningbo factory was Loyal's first
overseas project and the first endeavor with foreign investors. Both have
turned out to be a great success. Mitsubishi and Toho have found Loyal
to be a reliable partner in the He-Qiao factory. 
The
China market has proven to be a profitable endeavor as well. After two
years, the factory's initial capacity of 15,000 metric tons per year was
not enough to meet market demands. Capacity was therefore expanded in September
of 1995 to 40,000 metric tons per year. As with all Loyal manufacturing
facilities, the Ningbo factory achieves high production efficiency through
automated production processes, including a state-of-the-art control room
which monitors the temperature, pressure, and flow of fluids in the reactors
where the resin is made. Quality is also controlled with Loyal's modern
Sieving Platforms, which separate the resin beads by size, ensuring uniformity
in size to meet different customer needs. Automated coating procedures
further assure the highest-quality resin beads. The He-Qiao factory has
proven to be a successful testing ground for future investment in China
by the Loyal Group.
